Dr. Joseph Sevilla is currently Director of @iLabAfrica, a Research and Innovation Centre at Strathmore University (Nairobi, Kenya). He is also the Director of @iBizAfrica, a business incubator at Strathmore. He graduated as an Industrial Engineer (Universidad del País Vasco, Spain, 1980) and holds an MSc in Computer Science (University College London, UK, 1995) and a PhD in BioInformatics (Tecnun, Universidad de Navarra, Spain, 2005).

As a member of several committees formed by the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Research, Technical Training and Technology, the Ministry of Telecommunications, the Commission of Higher Education and the Kenyan ICT Board, he has advised on issues like the drafting of national policies in ICT, ICT and Education, Cybersecurity, development of National CS/IT Syllabus for secondary and university education, and the adoption of a National ICT Strategy. He has also acted as an advisor to the Directorate of Industrial Training in issues related to IT training. He has been an active member of the “East African Internet Association” and the “Computer Society of Kenya” where he has been a member of the Executive Board and the Education Committee respectively. He is currently Chairman of the “Description and Processing Languages Technical Committee” of the Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS). Since 2011, he has also served as a member of the Innovation Board at Safaricom (K) Ltd. In February 2013, he was appointed member of the Advisory Council for the IBM Innovation & Client Centre in Nairobi.

In 1991 he spear-headed the creation of the Information Technology Centre (ICT) at Strathmore and served as its first Director until October 2002. He has been a member of the Management Board of Strathmore University for over 20 years, Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology and Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Research and Quality Assurance. 

Together with representatives from other local universities, he participated in the creation of the Kenya National Educational Network (KENET). Recently, he has been actively involved in the promotion of Integrated Management Systems for Universities based on FOSS technologies within the region, holding workshops in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Ghana and Malawi.

While in Strathmore he has taught a variety of courses related to ICT and Management such as Web Technologies, IT Network Security and Cryptography, Operations Research and Managerial Decision Analysis as well as directed many research projects both at undergraduate and post-graduate level. Dr. Sevilla has been involved in FOSS education since the mid 90’s and has actively promoted the use of FOSS applications in institutions of Higher Learning.

Dr.Sevilla’s research interests cover Mobile Technologies, Cybersecurity, ICT in Education and Development, Entrepreneurship and Business Incubators, Managerial Decision Modelling, Internet Governance, eLearning, Bioinformatics and FOSS (Free and Open Source Software) applications.

In 2008, Dr.Sevilla was appointed External Examiner for Undergraduate Courses at the Faculty of Informatics of the University of Nairobi and has also served as External Moderator for MSc Projects at Kenyatta University and Jomo Kenyatta University.

Since 2008, Dr. Sevilla has been actively involved in the promotion of mobile application development and personally mentored a number of promising young local entrepreneurs.

In January 2011, Dr.Sevilla founded @iLabAfrica as a Research Institute under the Faculty of Information Technology at Strathmore University. The Institute actively promotes Research, Innovation, Product Development and Entrepreneurship; it also provides incubation facilities to local entrepreneurs and is actively involved in ICT Policy. Currently, @iLabAfrica brings together some 60 full-time researchers and its various activities have a wide reach within the East Africa region.

Nekesa is on a personal mission to build and support communities to develop innovative solutions that transform societies while protecting dignity and impacting economies positively. As Director of Community at Medic, Nekesa is working to scale the positive health impact achieved with the Community Health Toolkit, by building and fostering a vibrant community of practice.

Prior to joining Medic, Nekesa was the Director of Strategy at AfriLabs, a Pan African network of innovation hubs where she led the planning and execution of AfriLabs’ strategy to consistently elevate innovators across the African continent.

Dr. Bright Gameli Mawudor is a Cyber Security Engineering Lead at  MARA, Africa’s leader in Web3 & Blockchain technology. He is also the founder of the Africahackon, a  Cyber Security collective dedicated to fostering CyberSecurity excellence through capacity building and  

development of a strong community of experts in Africa. He acquired a PhD in IT Convergence and  Application Engineering with concentration in Information Security from Pukyong National University,  South Korea. For his professionalism, Dr Bright is an Advisory Board member of – EC-Council Global  Advisory Board Member – CTIA – Cybersafe Foundation – Moringa School – AfCAA – African council for  accreditation and accountability He has over 10 years of professional experience in the Cyber Security  industry with strong expertise in Cyber security Strategy building, Resilience, and system penetration  testing. Bright has also presented at over 245 Cyber Security conferences, lectured at various  universities, and contributed to cyber security publications. He was also recognized by Tribe of Hackers:  Blue Team 2020, Top 40 Under 40 2016/2021 of young entrepreneurs in Kenya and worked with world  class organizations such as Dimension Data/NTT, Cellulant and Ushahidi. Wanjiku Gakuo is a seasoned researcher, manual developer, trainer, certification enhancement expert, systems and policy implementer in the sustainable farming, food safety and quality field as an employee and a consultant. Wanjiku Gakuo has worked with organizations both locally and globally such as, HomeBiogas- Kenya, Farm Concern International, African Farms and Markets, Aloha Farms and Oropeal,focusing on areas such as;

Grace is the Deputy Program Director at Mercy Corps AgriFin supporting the Program Director with programming and management of the portfolio. Grace has 12 years’ experience in the financial inclusion and international development sectors. Grace joined AgriFin from the GSMA Innovation Fund where she supported innovative start-ups and SMEs using mobile centric innovative solutions to achieve sustainable growth and improved socio-economic impact across Africa and Asia Pacific.

She has also worked at KPMG East Africa’s International Development Advisory Services unit where she managed among others the Mastercard Foundation Fund for Rural Prosperity whose objective was to provide financial access to unbanked and under-banked communities of rural sub-Saharan Africa. Grace was also the programme coordinator for a youth programme in Kenya, funded by the Government, and supported by the World Bank that provided training and funding for 750 young entrepreneurs across the country.

Prior to joining KPMG, Grace gained extensive experience as a technical advisor with one of the leading boutique financial inclusion consulting firms, MSC Consulting. Grace led and executed technical assistance assignments to financial service providers for delivery of market-led products and services. She has worked with banks, telcos, micro-finance Institutions, Savings and Credit Co-operative Unions (SACCOs) and donor agencies in Africa and Asia to develop and customize products and channels of delivery, optimize operational efficiencies, reengineer processes, manage risks, design, and deliver training. She has also been a micro-finance consultant for one of the leading commercial banks in Kenya where her major tasks including growing the business for the bank targeting customers at the base of the pyramid.

Grace also sits on the board of the African Women in Fintech and Payments (AWFP) network – Kenya chapter, as a founding board member.

Kitawa Wemo works as an Innovations Lead at Amref Health Innovations (AHI) with 7 years of experience in public health and entrepreneurship. 

In her role at Amref Health Innovations, Kitawa started as an accelerator manager for Africa’s first assistive tech accelerator, funded by UKAid, supporting innovators to build, design and scale inclusive innovative solutions. 

Kitawa’s commitment to improving public health outcomes led her to manage the Empower program, where Amref partnered with Roche through satellite “Empower” clinics to identify female community health workers with disabilities to screen for breast and cervical cancer. Currently, she is leading the CRODA funded sustainability program to scale Mobile Vaccination Clinics for NCD intervention in rural communities.

Dr. Towela Nyirenda Jere works in the Regional Integration, Infrastructure and Trade Programme at the NEPAD Planning and Coordinating Agency as a Principal Programme Officer focusing on policy, legal and regulatory aspects of infrastructure and services.

She has over 15 years of experience working in the private sector, academia and currently in international development. She initiated the NEPAD Internet Governance Programme, helped launch the Southern Africa Internet Governance Forum and co-founded the African School on Internet Governance. She represents NEPAD on the ICANN Government Advisory Council and served on the IGF Multi-Stakeholder Advisory Group in 2014 and 2015. She holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering (Networking and Telecommunications) from the University of Kansas, a Master of Arts in Contemporary Diplomacy (Internet Governance), an ACCA Diploma in Financial Management and is a qualified Project Management Professional (PMP) with the Project Management Institute (USA). Towela is a member of the Malawi Institution of Engineers, the Internet Society (ISOC) and the Institute for Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).  She also serves on the IEEE Ad-Hoc committee on Africa Activities. She continues to advocate for increased awareness among African policy makers of the importance and significance of infrastructure and ICT development, Internet Governance and policy processes at national and continental level. 

Dr. Chitundu Kasase (PhD) is currently the Chief Executive Officer/Director of the National Technology Business Center (NTBC). The NTBC is a government agency (Statutory Body) under the Ministry of Technology and Science, Directorate of Science, Technology and Innovation with core responsibility of harnessing technology and innovations; and transforming them into viable business products and services.

As CEO of the NTBC, Dr Kasase is a key person involved in driving the policy and strategy agenda in the science, technology and innovation sector in Zambia to drive technological innovations and entrepreneurship that create jobs and wealth for the citizenry. Over the years, he has been recognized as a thought leader in the Start Up and Innovation ecosystem both in Zambia and subregion.

Dr Kasase is a Senior-level professional who has held leadership and senior management roles in the public sector and international Development organisations sector. Professionally, Dr Kasase has over 20 years in management and leadership roles in the public service sector, academia and international development organisations. He has developed key partnerships and networks with several organisations that include public sector, UN Agencies, International Development Organisations, local & International non-governmental organizations and the private sector.

Dr. Kasase holds a Ph.D. from the University of Surrey, UK and Master’s degree from the University of Ghent, Belgium. He is member of the prestigious Zambia Academy of Science (ZaAS).

Sieka is the Program Director for Mercy Corps AgriFin directing all programming and strategic partnerships. Sieka has worked for over 16 years as a digital innovations practitioner and a business strategy leader with a passion for helping institutions and individuals benefit from new technologies for deepening access to financial and information services. He currently leads work in strategy, product usage and development, channel development and go-to-market execution, providing digital financial and information services to small holder farmers in the Global South.

Previously, Sieka served as the Group Digital Alliances Manager at Airtel Africa, Airtel Money Director at Airtel Kenya, and Technical Advisor with IFC, supporting digital financial inclusion across Africa. He has consulted for various organizations, including Vital Wave, Ernest & Young, and Grameen Foundation and serves on the board of a number of organizations in various sectors. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa and is completing a Masters in Sociology and Entrepreneurship at the University of Nairobi.

Dr. Michael W. Kimwele is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Computing within the School of Computing and Information Technology (SCIT) at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) in Kenya. He holds a BSc. Mathematics and Computer Science-First Class Honours from JKUAT, a Masters in Information Technology Management from University of Sunderland UK and a Doctorate in Information Technology from JKUAT.

 Currently, he is the Director-School of Computing and Information Technology at JKUAT. Dr. Kimwele has authored a commendable number of research papers in international/national conferences/journals and also supervises postgraduate students in Computer Science/Information Technology. His main research interests are in Software Engineering, Computer Security and Social Computing. He is the Deputy Management Representative (DMR) for the College of Pure and Applied Sciences (COPAS) at JKUAT; a responsibility that ensures that management systems processes conform to the requirements of ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 standards.

Snehar spent 12 years at Orange/France Telecom in various roles in Strategy, Finance and Innovation in UK, Europe and in Kenya where he was Deputy CFO and launched the Orange Money business in partnership with Equity Bank.

Snehar then joined as the start-up CFO of Eaton Towers in Kenya and Uganda with the acquisition of 3,000+ telecom towers from Airtel, Orange, Warid financed by more than $500m of Equity and Debt. Having built this profitable business with predictable long term cash flows, the business was then sold to American Tower for $1.85bn.

Snehar has been the Africa MD of Azuri Technologies, a Pay-As-You-Go solar company that he built over the past 5 years to power more than 250,000 households across 5 countries in Africa, employing more than 3,000 resources and funded by Equity investors (IP Group Plc and Marubeni Corporation of Japan) as well as Off Balance sheet debt providers including DFI’s such as the European Commission.

Pelonomi has been in the data science space for 9 years and spent four of those years as a Data Scientist and use case lead productionalising machine learning solutions in the finance industry. Pelonomi is a mentor for the Jeppe Ruth First Scholarship and Trustee of the Ruth First Jeppe Memorial Trust, she also dedicates her energy to advocating for responsible AI, running and teaching at the Code Kamoso coding academy, and volunteering for the Ungovernable NPC where she is involved in reclaimer work and the organisation of a community garden. She is a carpentry novice and a writer of music in her spare time.

Jehiel Oliver is responsible for the overall management and strategy of Hello Tractor, an agricultural technology company that connects tractor owners and farmers through a farm equipment sharing application. He has been honored with numerous awards for his work in social entrepreneurship including being recognized by Foreign Policy Magazine as a Top 100 Global Thinker for 2016. He was appointed under the Obama Administration as a member of the President’s Advisory Council on Doing Business in Africa, where he chaired the technology subcommittee. Prior to Hello Tractor, Oliver worked in consulting and investment banking. Outside of work, Oliver remains active serving on the board of Shared Interest and H4H, both impact investment funds focused in sub-Saharan Africa.

As Chief Product Officer, Steve is responsible for leading our product teams — setting a product vision and strategy that accelerates the growth and impact of Mozilla’s existing products. Additionally, he is responsible for setting the foundation for new product development during a period of time where there is a massive need for software that is unambiguously good for the world to be built at scale. He is leading a team looking to solve some of the internet’s biggest challenges — openness, accessibility, safety, privacy, security, interoperability, individual agency and more.

Previously, Steve worked at Twitter as a Vice President of Product for their Machine Learning and Data platforms. Prior to that, Steve led Product Management, Design and Research in Facebook’s Infrastructure organization. He also spent almost 14 years at Microsoft where he was responsible for the Windows third-party software ecosystems and held leadership roles in Windows IoT, Visual Studio and the Technical Computing Group. Additionally, Steve has held a variety of engineering roles at small and medium-sized companies in the Valley in spaces like developer tools, endpoint security, mobile computing and professional services.

Steve studied Aerospace Engineering at San Jose University and holds an MBA from the University of Washington. He lives in Seattle with his wife, two dogs and two ducks, and has two grown children. In his spare time, Steve plays guitar in a “dad band” and enjoys fishing, scuba and swimming.

As Chief Marketing Officer, Lindsey O’Brien leads Mozilla’s global marketing strategy and organization. In this role she guides the team to find new ways to attract people to our new products and Firefox browsers, in a period when there has never been greater need for privacy-focused solutions to the challenges of online life.

Previously, Lindsey was Vice President of Product Marketing, with responsibility for overseeing new product launches, nurturing existing products, ideating on key campaigns and go-to-market strategies, and evangelizing new innovations in internet technologies to drive Mozilla’s future growth.

Prior to Mozilla, Lindsey headed up corporate-level marketing for Facebook Inc., including leading product marketing for Facebook’s core products: News Feed, News, Stories, Civic Engagement, Privacy and Safety. Before joining Facebook, Lindsey led marketing for GoldieBlox, a Bay Area start-up focused on bridging the gender gap in STEM.

Lindsey lives in the Sierra Foothills with her husband Joe, her two kids, three dogs, and four cats. In her spare time, you’ll find her sweeping up pet hair, gardening, and singing to her houseplants.

Hugh Molotsi is the founder and CEO of Ujama, a messaging platform for communities that makes it easy for people to help each other. Hugh is a seasoned product and technology leader and an accomplished innovator who has helped launch several disruptive products.

Hugh had a 22-year career at Intuit where his last position was Engineering Fellow and Vice President of Innovation. Hugh worked on QuickBooks and other small business offerings. Hugh led the launch of several new businesses, including QuickBooks Enterprise and Intuit Payments, which deliver over $1B in annual revenue today. Hugh was an inaugural member of Intuit’s Diversity Council, leading to the formation of a dozen employee networks, including Intuit’s faith-based networks. Hugh has been a dedicated supporter of early career development and helped develop Intuit’s Rotational Development Program.

Hugh is the co-author of “The Intrapreneur’s Journey”, a book on how to develop a culture of innovation at large companies. Hugh holds a Master of Science degree in Computer Engineering, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering Technology. Hugh is also an American Leadership Forum senior fellow and a certified leadership development trainer.

Outside work, Hugh serves on the board of Echoing Green, which discovers and invests in emerging social entrepreneurs. He is past president of the Board of Directors of Fresh Lifelines for Youth (FLY), a nonprofit agency that runs programs for at-risk youth.

Alice Munyua, the Director of Africa Innovation Mradi at Mozilla Corporation, is passionate about providing ICT solutions.

Ms Munyua studied Disruptive Innovation at the Harvard Business School Executive Education. She also holds a Master’s Specialisation in Social Communications from the Pontifical Gregorian University.
She worked as a broadcaster for Radio Vaticana, Africa Service, between 1995 and 1998 when the Vatican sent her to Rwanda. She was the Project Director for Radio Kwizera (Hope) – a Jesuit Refugee Service – for two years. The belief was that radio could counter the impact the medium had been used to create during the Rwandan genocide. In 2000, she became the Project Director: Development Broadcasting Unit for Malawi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC).

After three years at MBC, she moved to the African Women Development and Communications Network (FEMNET) as Communications Programme Officer: Communications for two years. She created FEMNET’s communications department.

Ms Munyua joined the Association for Progressive Communications as the Programme Officer (Africa) Manager in 2003. The organisation brought alternative internet service providers – that were not proprietary – together. As the National Coordinator in Kenya, she ran the Catalysing Access to ICTs in Africa (CATIA) programme. The $3.5 million three-year project worked in seven African countries to develop the ICT policy.
She co-founded Kenya ICT Action Network (KICTANet) in 2003. As the platform’s Convenor, she brought stakeholders, including the civil society, private sector and Government, together to develop the Kenya National ICT Policy, 2006. The policy would create an enabling environment allowing entrepreneurs to innovate on the internet.

Ms Munyua joined the Ministry of Information and Communications in 2004, and as Chair of the Kenya Internet Governance Steering Committee, she convened the Kenya and East Africa internet governance forums. Under the Ministry, in 2011, she organised and chaired the United Nations Internet Governance Forum.

She worked for the Communications Authority of Kenya, which regulates the country’s ICT industry, for six years, from 2005. She chaired the Technical Committee Board responsible for signing the licences for the country’s first two mobile operators – Safaricom and Celtel. She brought the first fibre optic cable to East Africa during her tenure and introduced freedom of information and child online protection. She served as a member of the Board of Directors until 2011.

She represented the Kenyan Government and the African Union Commission (AUC) as part of the Governmental Advisory Committee Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) for 13 years. She served as Vice Chair, Co-chair and Founding Chair (Public Service Working Group) on the committee. As Vice Chair, she successfully advocated and fought for the domain name .africa, which was to be issued to an individual, on behalf of the African Union.

She was the Board Chair for the Kenya Network Information Centre between 2011 and 2013. During the same period, she served as the Steering Group Chair and a Member of the Executive Management Team at the Commonwealth Cybercrime Initiative (CCI). Thirty five organisations, including Interpol, the Commonwealth Telecommunications Organisation, and the Council of Europe, form the CCI consortium.
Ms Munyua has been involved with the Internet Society in various capacities, including Member of the Board of Trustees, between 2015 and 2018. She was appointed an Advisory Board Member at Global Partners Digital in 2016.

She took up the Policy Advisor job at Mozilla Corporation in 2018, where she supported the task force. She worked around the Huduma Number project – a World Bank initiative – in Kenya, supporting the Kenya Human Rights Commission and encouraging the Government to put safeguards in place before collecting sensitive data from its citizens. A year later, she was appointed the Director of Africa Innovation Mradi.

Dr. Vincent Ngundi has over 18 years’ experience mainly in cybersecurity, strategic management, risk management, project management, ICT regulation, and Internet governance and management.

He holds a doctorate degree in Strategic Management and a Global Executive MBA from USIU-Africa. Dr. Ngundi also holds Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in Computer Science from the University of Nairobi. He is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), a Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), a Certified Security Analyst (ECSA), a Project Management Professional (PMP), and a certified ISO 27001 implementer and auditor. Dr. Ngundi’s research interest is in strategy implementation, and his doctorate focused on the impact of strategy implementation approaches on organizational performance.

Dr. Ngundi is also a Commonwealth Professional Fellow following his research on national cybersecurity strategy implementation at the Commonwealth Telecommunications Organization (CTO) in London. He is also an alumni of the Program on Cyber Security Studies (PCSS) at the George C. Marshall European Centre for Security Studies in Germany. Dr. Ngundi is a member of the Academy of Management (AOM), the Doctoral Association of Eastern Africa (DAEA), ISACA Global, the International Information System Security Certification Consortium (ISC)², the Project Management Institute (PMI), and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).

Dr. Ngundi is also an honorary and advisory member of the Kenya Cyber Security and Forensics Association (KCSFA), and the Institute of Internal Auditors Kenya Chapter (IIA). Dr. Ngundi works for the Communications Authority of Kenya (CA), Kenya’s ICT regulator. As the Director in-charge of Cyber Security, he oversees ICT industry issues and coordinates the implementation of Kenya’s national cyber security framework. He is also the Head of the National Cybersecurity Centre, Kenya’s national point of contact on cybersecurity matters.

Dr. Ngundi is the Chair of the National KE-CIRT/CC Cybersecurity Committee (NKCC) and the Chair of the East African Communications Organization (EACO) Cybersecurity Working Group. Dr. Ngundi is also the Chair of the AFRINIC Internet Policy Development Working Group and a former representative of Africa at the global ICANN Address Supporting Organization Address Council (ASO-AC).

The Data Commissioner in Kenya, 1st vice chair of the board of the NADPA, and a Member Editorial Board Global Privacy Law Review. The Office of the Data Protection Commissioner is a data regulatory office established pursuant to the Data Protection Act, 2019. The office is mandated to: Regulate the processing of personal data, protect the privacy of individuals; and provide data subjects with rights and remedies to protect their personal data from processing that is not in accordance with the Act.

Previously, I held the position of; Director of Voter Education Partnership and Communication at the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) for a duration of one year and nine months (December 2018- to November 2020), Director of Voter Registration and Electoral Operation for nine years Jan 2010 to Dec 2018. I worked at the Institute for Education in Democracy (IED), a leading NGO in elections in Kenya, and the Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA Kenya) as a Programme Officer in the Women’s Rights and Advocacy Programme.

Mr. John OMO is the Secretary-General of the African Telecommunications Union (ATU) having been re-elected for a second term in 2022 at the ATU Conference of Plenipotentiaries. He leads the continental body entrusted with building consensus within African countries in the development of ICT policies, systems and services, and also in coordinating African participation in international ICT for Africa.

Mr. Omo has 31 years’ experience as a lawyer and has contributed immensely to the development of local and international policies, legislation, agreements and treaties in all areas of public service, but mainly in the area of ICTs.

Prior to his election for his first term in 2018, he worked with the Communications Authority of Kenya, Kenya’s ICT regulator, where he provided leadership over the Authority’s legal matters and strategies. Before that, he worked in the public/civil service.

He holds a Master of Law degree in International and Commercial law from the University of Sheffield – UK; a Bachelor of Law from the University of Nairobi – Kenya; a Diploma in Human Rights Law from the UN Human Rights Centre, Geneva, and ILO Centre Turin and another diploma in Legal Practice and Ethics from the Kenya School of Law amongst other professional courses.

Mr. Andrew Ndambiri Muriuki was appointed as a commissioner in the Public Service Commission on 10th January 2019. He has over 17 years of progressive experience in sustainable resource planning and management in the public sector, mainly in institutions of higher learning. He also has broad experience in the functional areas of human resource, administration, procurement, finance, supply chain and property management. Prior to joining the Commission, Commissioner Muriuki was the Deputy Registrar (Administration & Finance) at Dedan Kimathi University of Technology, Nyeri. 

He also served in various positions at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, rising through the ranks from Management Trainee to the position of Senior Assistant Registrar. Commissioner Muriuki has hands-on experience in corporate governance, having been a Member of the National Standards Council of the Kenya Bureau of Standards and the Institute of Directors of Kenya. He has attended numerous professional and career development courses in management, procurement, finance, project planning, labour relations and corporate governance, locally and abroad. Commissioner Muriuki holds a Master of Science degree in Information Systems from the University of Sunderland in the United Kingdom; National Diploma in Business Management from Kenya Institute of Management; and Bachelor of Arts degree from Kenyatta University.

Mr. Simon Kibet Rotich is a career administrator with over thirty years progressive experience, having worked in various capacities in the public service. His deep understanding of Government administration has ensured successful implementation and delivery of services to the people in the areas and positions he has served in.

His appointment as Commission Secretary/CEO on 1st August 2019 vested in him the responsibility to drive the Commission Secretariat to enable the Commission deliver its mandate.

Mr. Rotich joined the civil service in 1991 as an Assistant Secretary Cadet in the Office of the President, rising steadily through the ranks as District Officer, District Commissioner, Undersecretary, Deputy Secretary, Senior Deputy Secretary, Director of Administration, Deputy Commission Secretary and finally to his current position as Commission Secretary/CEO. He also served as Chief Executive Officer of the Commission on Implementation of the Constitution.

Mr. Rotich has been a member of various selection panels constituted by the Government to recruit chairpersons and members of Constitutional and Statutory Commissions and Agencies including National Cohesion Integration Commission, Technical Vocational Education Training Authority and Commission on Administrative Justice.

Mr. Rotich holds a Master of Public Administration degree from Moi University, a Postgraduate Diploma in Mass Communication from the University of Nairobi and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Kenyatta University. He has attended numerous training, workshops and seminars locally and internationally.

Mr. Rotich is a member of Kenya Association of Public Administration and Management (KAPAM), an affiliate of Africa Association of Public Administration and Management (AAPAM). Ambassador Anthony Mwaniki Muchiri was sworn into office as the chairperson of the Public Service Commission on 22nd December 2021.

He is a career public servant, having last served as Kenya’s Ambassador to Cuba and concurrently as High Commissioner/Ambassador/PR of Kenya to Jamaica, Barbados, St. Kitts & Nevis, Guyana, Dominican Republic, CARICOM Secretariat since July 2018. 

He joined the public service in 1984 in the administration cadre and rose through the ranks as Assistant Inspector (Inspectorate of State Corporations), Assistant Secretary (Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, and Ministry of National Guidance & Political Affairs), Second Secretary (Ministry of Foreign Affairs), and Chef de Cabinet to the Permanent Secretary, Secretary to the Cabinet and Head of the Public Service.
