The Data Commissioner in Kenya, 1st vice chair of the board of the NADPA, and a Member Editorial Board Global Privacy Law Review. The Office of the Data Protection Commissioner is a data regulatory office established pursuant to the Data Protection Act, 2019. The office is mandated to: Regulate the processing of personal data, protect the privacy of individuals; and provide data subjects with rights and remedies to protect their personal data from processing that is not in accordance with the Act.
Previously, I held the position of; Director of Voter Education Partnership and Communication at the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) for a duration of one year and nine months (December 2018- to November 2020), Director of Voter Registration and Electoral Operation for nine years Jan 2010 to Dec 2018. I worked at the Institute for Education in Democracy (IED), a leading NGO in elections in Kenya, and the Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA Kenya) as a Programme Officer in the Women’s Rights and Advocacy Programme.
