Dr. Vincent Ngundi

Dr. Vincent Ngundi has over 18 years’ experience mainly in cybersecurity, strategic management, risk management, project management, ICT regulation, and Internet governance and management.

He holds a doctorate degree in Strategic Management and a Global Executive MBA from USIU-Africa. Dr. Ngundi also holds Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in Computer Science from the University of Nairobi. He is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), a Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), a Certified Security Analyst (ECSA), a Project Management Professional (PMP), and a certified ISO 27001 implementer and auditor. Dr. Ngundi’s research interest is in strategy implementation, and his doctorate focused on the impact of strategy implementation approaches on organizational performance.

Dr. Ngundi is also a Commonwealth Professional Fellow following his research on national cybersecurity strategy implementation at the Commonwealth Telecommunications Organization (CTO) in London. He is also an alumni of the Program on Cyber Security Studies (PCSS) at the George C. Marshall European Centre for Security Studies in Germany. Dr. Ngundi is a member of the Academy of Management (AOM), the Doctoral Association of Eastern Africa (DAEA), ISACA Global, the International Information System Security Certification Consortium (ISC)², the Project Management Institute (PMI), and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).

Dr. Ngundi is also an honorary and advisory member of the Kenya Cyber Security and Forensics Association (KCSFA), and the Institute of Internal Auditors Kenya Chapter (IIA). Dr. Ngundi works for the Communications Authority of Kenya (CA), Kenya’s ICT regulator. As the Director in-charge of Cyber Security, he oversees ICT industry issues and coordinates the implementation of Kenya’s national cyber security framework. He is also the Head of the National Cybersecurity Centre, Kenya’s national point of contact on cybersecurity matters.

Dr. Ngundi is the Chair of the National KE-CIRT/CC Cybersecurity Committee (NKCC) and the Chair of the East African Communications Organization (EACO) Cybersecurity Working Group. Dr. Ngundi is also the Chair of the AFRINIC Internet Policy Development Working Group and a former representative of Africa at the global ICANN Address Supporting Organization Address Council (ASO-AC).
